We hope you find time to enjoy some of the many attractions in our area during your stay. Acadia Village Resort is located in Ellsworth, Maine – the gateway to the Downeast/Acadia region, one of Maine’s premiere tourist destinations.

Acadia National Park
Mount Desert Island
Every year more than 3 million people come to explore Acadia National Park. Young and old alike enjoy the breathtaking views, exploring miles of hiking trails, biking the carriage trails, partaking in ranger run programs, swimming in the ocean & lakes, exploring the gardens, taking in the wildlife, climbing the cliffs, skiing, snowmobiling and so much more!
All vehicles, bikers, and hikers require an entrance pass to enter Acadia National Park. Passes can be bought in the park or online. Note: Plan to go cashless,
the park does not accept cash.
Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is a beautiful coastal village with something for everyone. They have many unique shops to find that perfect something, delicious restaurants featuring fresh Maine lobster, refreshing beverages from local breweries, astounding panoramic views from the shore path, quaint cottages to bike past, and parks to relax in.
Woodlawn Museum & Gardens
Ellsworth
Woodlawn Museum is so much more than a Museum it is also home to a public park, stunning gardens, and beautifully maintained walking trails. Visitors enjoy exploring the Black House, playing croquet, and walking through the many gardens and beautifully maintained walking trails.
Fort Knox State Park & Penobscot Narrows Observatory
Prospect, Maine
Fort Knox State Park is a must-see bit of history on the coast of Maine. There are passages to explore, cannons to take selfies with, dark tunnels to go through, and rooms to explore. They also host events such as living history days, ghost tours and live theatre.
Cadillac Mountain
Acadia National Park
View a gorgeous sunrise or sunset from the highest peak near the coast in the Eastern United States.
Reservations are required.
Note: a park entrance pass is required as well.
Abbe Museum
Bar Harbor
The Abbe Museum shares the history and culture of Maine’s Native people, collectively known as the Wabanaki. The museum operates from two locations downtown Bar Harbor and trailside within Acadia National Park at Sieur de Monts Springs, admission includes both locations.
Downeast Scenic Railroad
Ellsworth
Take a ride on the Downeast Scenic Railroad. You’ll travel the rails of the former Maine Central Railroad, where vintage train cars transport you through pine forests, rolling fields, and across sparkling waterways—all while immersing you in the rich heritage of Maine’s railway era.
Down East Sunrise Trail
Ellsworth
The Down East Sunrise Trail is the longest off-road trail on the East Coast Greenway and runs from Ellsworth all the way to Canada! Just a quarter mile away, the trailhead puts you on your way to seeing the inland beauty of Maine. Take a walk, ride your bike, or maybe a four wheeler or snowmobile to view the vast green forests, marshes, and habitat of white tail deer, beavers, eagles, wild turkeys or, if you are lucky, even moose.
The Grand
Ellsworth
The Grand is a Non-Profit performing arts center on Main Street in Ellsworth, Maine. Built in 1938, it is a significant local example of Art Deco architecture, with a prominent marquee. Perfect for a rainy day, be sure to check out what’s playing!
Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse
Mount Desert Island
See one of Maine’s most iconic lighthouses. The Bass Harbor Head Light Station is located in Tremont, Maine, marking the entrance to Bass Harbor and Blue Hill Bay on the southwest corner of Mount Desert Island.
Schoodic Peninsula
Winter Harbor
Schoodic Point is the lesser known and lesser visited section of Acadia National Park. Located 35 minutes north of the resort, adjacent to Winter Harbor, Schoodic makes up about 5% of Acadia National Park. Featuring rocky coastline, it’s the perfect place to go to enjoy a picnic lunch of lobster or crabmeat rolls while enjoying the crashing waves and cool ocean breezes.
Birdsacre
Ellsworth
Birdsacre bird sanctuary is open seven days a week year-round. The many gorgeous forested trails make you forget that you are in town, everyone of all ages enjoys being able to get up close to birds of prey, eating a picnic lunch at one of the outdoor picnic areas, and exploring the bog walk.

Featuring everything from men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing to outdoor gear and even expert led outdoor experiences, L.L. Bean is an iconic Maine brand and their largest outlet store is just around the corner. If you enjoy shopping, you will love this store!
